A Taste of Bali: The Culinary World of Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali

Category: News Stories

Located on the beachfront in Tanjung Benoa, Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali has long been known to trade partners across the UK & Ireland as a dependable, all-inclusive family favourite. Less well known, perhaps, is just how far its culinary programme has grown — with seven restaurants and bars, a rotating cast of themed dining nights and menus designed to suit every generation of traveller, food has quietly become one of the resort's strongest selling points.

Seven venues, one all-inclusive pass

At the heart of the offering is the resort's all-inclusive dining programme, which spans breakfast, lunch and dinner across a wide range of food and beverage outlets built to cater to all age groups — from young families to couples seeking a quiet, adults-focused evening. Grand Café serves a daily-changing international buffet around the clock, while Ibu Kitchen turns the spotlight on Indonesian home cooking, with breakfast, lunch and dinner rooted in traditional local flavours.

For seafood lovers, Jukung Seafood Grill & Restaurant is the standout: an 80-seat, al-fresco venue set right on the beach, pairing the "incomparable taste" of grilled fish and fresh seafood with uninterrupted Indian Ocean views and Balinese furniture and artwork. Chopstick Restaurant brings authentic Chinese cuisine to the table for lunch and dinner, and Bumbu Delhi rounds out the international line-up with an Indian menu built around the beauty and balance of regional spice blends.

Families with younger children are well catered for too. Mahi-Mahi, the poolside restaurant at Family Paradise, offers a relaxed, casual setting with comfortable lounge seating — ideal for parents keeping an eye on the kids' pool while still enjoying a proper meal. At the other end of the spectrum, couples can book Romantic Dining, a private beachside table for two with a curated set menu, perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons or simply a special night away from the buffet.

Themed nights and after-dark dining

Come evening, Rama Stage hosts themed buffet dinners with live entertainment every night from 7pm to 10pm, rotating through concepts such as Bali Around the World, BBQ Under the Stars and Mongolian BBQ — a reliable crowd-pleaser for groups and multi-generational bookings. Guests on the all-inclusive package also benefit from a 30% discount on premium additions such as lobster and Wagyu beef, giving them an easy way to trade up for a special-occasion meal without leaving the resort.

Drinks are equally well covered, with five signature bars — including the ocean-facing Jukung Bar, JJ Rooftop Lounge, Panorama Lounge & Bar, Coconuts Pool Bar and the newly opened Lazy Pool Bar — serving hand-crafted cocktails, mocktails, local beers and house wines from 11am to midnight.

A chef-led approach

Overseeing all eight restaurants and bars, plus in-room dining and banquet operations, is Executive Chef Agus Sugiyanto, who places fresh ingredients, natural flavour and presentation at the centre of every dish. "It is a great pleasure when you can see the joy and smile from your customer right after they taste the dish," he says of his approach to the resort's kitchens.

Why it matters for agents

Grand Mirage's culinary breadth is a genuine point of difference within the all-inclusive category — giving clients of every age and travel style, from young families to honeymooners, a reason to stay on property rather than venture out for every meal.
