Retreat and disconnect at Six Senses Krabey Island

Category: News Stories

In the early morning, when the forest is still breathing mist, join us to step into the jungle with woven baskets to gather herbs and spices, guided by the wisdom of Khmer traditions. Each carries its own story. Kaffir lime leaves, sharp and fresh, clear the mind. Ginger and galangal, hidden beneath the soft earth, warm the body. Fragrant lemongrass calms the heart.

At the Alchemy Bar, the table fills with colour. Green leaves, bright roots, and curls of citrus are peeled, slowly cut, crushed, and blended to release the aroma of the forest. The herbs are then wrapped in soft cotton cloth and shaped into warm herbal compresses, ready for Ayurvedic treatments that soothe muscles and awaken the body’s natural healing.

What’s more, when spending time in the public spaces at Six Senses Krabey Island, you may prefer a moment to yourself. If you’re deep in thought, simply wear our red krama, a traditional Khmer scarf we call the Silence Retreat. When the krama is on, our hosts know to give you space and allow your moment of calm to continue uninterrupted.

You’ll also see the Disconnection Box on your desk, for taking the first step towards a digital detox. Instead, keep your attention on the magic of a sunset, the call of a hornbill, a langur crossing the path, or even the presence of your loved ones. Choose a five-night reset with our Inner Harmony Journey, which combines therapeutic treatments and calming practices including the Alchemy Bar and Ayurvedic consultations. Or simply opt for our Stay Longer with Half Board and enjoy complimentary wellness facilities, healing nature, and immersive experiences at Six Senses.
