Responsible Travel at Vijitt Resort

Category: News Stories

Environmental Practicalities:
Eco friendly and Environmental responsibility is always in the top priority of our missions. In the design and construction of the resort, the environment concern was always a driving force behind everything that has been created. As much of the building materials as possible were sourced locally and legally from within Thailand. This is a fundamental element of our policies; purchase locally produced products at a suitable quality.

During the creation of the resort, every effort was made to keep as many of the existing mature trees as possible; moving the location of some of the villas to accommodate the trees. Therefore if you find you do not have a 180 degree sea view from your villa, be aware that you are helping the world by enjoying the natural view of the azure blue sea mixed with the untainted vivid greens that form part of the ‘native’ Phuket (much of which is being lost on a daily basis as Phuket develops). Keeping these trees also helps protect the natural environment, provides a natural habitat for the indigenous species of animals and birds, helps offset your carbon emissions as you fly to Phuket, and help protect the ozone layer.  In the creation of the operational procedures of the resort, an environmental policy has been developed which will provide a basis for the development of all operational activities, underpinning everything we do.

The resort is awarded The 14th Thailand Tourism Silver Awards 2023 - 2025 Accommodation - Resort category to certify the quality of tourism products and services with sustainable tourism standards and social responsibility (White Tourism) which is convenient, clean, safe, fair and environmentally friendly. In Year 2024, The  V Spa is certified not only by  the Institute of Knowledge Management for National Competitiveness Enhancement to be The CO2 Neutral Spa, a groundbreaking research project dedicated to advancing the health spa industry towards net zero carbon tourism by, but also by the Confederation of Thai Spa and Wellness Associations and the Spa Innovation Center and Health Promotion Tourism Phuket Rajabhat University to receive ECO-SPA Standard Certification on a pilot project of health spa that is environmentally friendly and expresses local identity.

And most recently, in 2025, the resort achieved the 3-star STGs certification from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and successfully participated in the Clean Hotel with 3C Program: Clean Bed, Clean Air, Clean Food for the year 2025 (in September). The Vijitt Resort Phuket has met the standards of the GREEN Health Hotel (GHH) program, recognizing hotels that are friendly to both health and the environment by Phuket Provincial Public Health (November).
