The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival returns
Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour Front will come alive this June with the thunderous beat of drums during the annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival. From 22-24 June, over 4,500 athletes from all over the world will descend on the city to compete in the world’s premier Dragon Boat race.
As well as the races themselves, some adventurous paddlers will also dress up in eye-catching outfits to compete for the Best Costume Award as part of the Fancy Dress Competition.
Other highlights include a mega party at the Central Harbourfront which will include an artificial sand beach for the public to bask in the sun in the heart of the city, live music performances and food trucks serving local delicacies and refreshing drinks.
As well as the Central Harbourfront, the Dragon Boat races will also take place in various districts in Hong Kong including Sai Kung, Aberdeen, Stanley, Tao Po, Sha Tun and Tuen Mun, extending the celebratory atmosphere across the city.
