Cruise Whitsundays returns to the Great Barrier Reef
Cruise Whitsundays returned its much anticipated daily cruises to the Great Barrier Reef on 23 May.
Cruise Whitsundays has two permanently moored pontoons ‘Reefworld’ and ‘Heart’ pontoon located at Hardy Reef and late March both encountered 11m waves and strong winds during Tropical Cyclone Debbie. The Cruise Whitsundays maintenance team have repaired and refurbished ‘Heart’ pontoon and resumed daily departures.
The cyclone hasn’t scared off the main star attractions at Hardy Reef, the beloved marine life; Chip the Turtle, George the Queensland Grouper and Wally and Maggie, the two Maori Wrasses have all been seen by dive crew around the pontoon. Even the resident Nemo family have been found alive and well. Guests can still expect to snorkel amongst the colourful corals and abundant marine life and enjoy a newly refurbished pontoon.
